Mike serves as Chief Operating Officer, President and Chief Financial Officer for BlackPine Communities. As founder, Mike leads the company’s overall vision, strategic forward planning and business development. With over 29 years of homebuilding experience in both custom and production operations, Mike now brings his diverse expertise and longstanding industry relationships to BlackPine Communities. Prior to BlackPine Communities, Mike held several regional and national positions with Kimball Hill Homes, a $1.2bn national homebuilder based in Chicago. During his eleven year tenure at Kimball Hill Homes, he served as Division Controller/Purchasing Manager, Northern California Division President, and Sr. Vice President of National Supply Chain. Prior to launching BlackPine Communities in 2010, he served as chief financial officer for a Northern California commercial real estate company and as chief financial officer for a start-up exploration drilling contractor with operations throughout the western United States. He holds degrees in agricultural economics and finance from California State University, Chico. Throughout his career, Mike has been honored and recognized by the industry for his innovation, procedural disciplines and visionary leadership.
