In March 2014, Margaret Montemayor became Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Pioneer Natural Resources. She joined Pioneer in June 2010 and held positions as Corporate Controller and Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.
In her current role, Ms. Montemayor is responsible for all aspects of accounting operations including internal and external financial reporting, technical accounting matters, internal controls and establishing and enforcing policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements.
Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Montemayor was an auditor at Arthur Andersen LLP from 2000 to 2002 and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP from 2002 to 2004. In 2004 she joined the Accounting Advisory Services group with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she provided technical accounting and transaction support to clients in Zurich, Switzerland and Dallas, Texas.
Ms. Montemayor graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas with a Master of Business Administration in 2000 and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 1999.
She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Petroleum Accounting.
