Terry joined American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (AEO) in 2016. He is currently the Vice President of Employment Law and Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer at American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. In this role, Terry is responsible for leading and defining the I+D strategy and goals for AEO focusing on the three pillars of hiring, culture and development. In 2018, Terry formed AEO’s Inclusion & Diversity Steering Committee and also founded the I&D Alliance. The I&D Alliance is an inclusive company-wide community of associates passionate about inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging. Terry also serves as the head labor and employment law counsel at AEO and is responsible for all aspects of labor and employment law strategy and support to AEO’s 40,000 associates globally. Terry was recently awarded the AEO ICON award, the most prestigious honor at AEO, awarded to one individual at the Company each year who embodies AEO’s corporate values while positively impacting the business and people in significant ways.
Terry previously worked at FedEx Ground and also practiced at the law firms of Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney, P.C., in its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office and Vinson & Elkins, LLP, in its Austin, Texas, office. He received his law degree, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law and Bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Miami (FL). When Terry is not on video calls, he spends most of his free time playing golf, watching soccer and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
