Dr. Talmage Boston

Talmage Boston is a partner in the Dallas office of the law firm of Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton, where he specializes in commercial litigation.
 
He’s been practicing law in Dallas for over 40 years, and has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly magazine in his field every year since 2003, and in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2013.
 
In the last three years, he’s won statewide awards for his professional expertise and service to the legal profession from both the Texas Bar Foundation and the State Bar of Texas’ Litigation Section.
 
In addition, he’s a recognized historian – as the author of five books, two on baseball history, one on legal history, and two on presidential history – and the newest one will be released on April 2, 2024. The forewords to his books have been written by John Grisham, Frank Deford, former Attorney General of the United States Dick Thornburgh, Ken Burns, and CNN political analyst John Avlon.
 
The Dallas Historical Society named him “History Maker of the Year” in the field of history for the year 2023.
 
He’s also currently a Contributing Columnist for the Dallas Morning News; and over the years, has written 85 Op-Ed pieces and book reviews for the Morning News.
 
As an accomplished trial lawyer, historian, and journalistic commentator, Talmage will be speaking to us today on the subject, “Lincoln, Churchill, and the Power of Words.”
