As a business solutions strategist for the Truist Life Insurance Services (LIS) Business Solutions Team (BST), Tom Brooks works with business clients of Truist’s Commercial and McGriff lines of business. Tom specializes in the discovery, design, implementation, and management of complex planning solutions for business clients. With expertise in business succession strategies and nonqualified employee benefits, Tom provides customized business solutions for successful corporations, their owners, and their respective families while adding valuable insight as a member of the team at Truist.
Tom joined Truist LIS in 2022 with over 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, spending the majority of his career serving as a life insurance sales specialist, financial services field support agent, and an advanced planning manager for a well-known insurance company.
Before joining Truist LIS, Tom was a senior vice president for a large insurance company. In this role, he focused on helping financial professionals incorporate life insurance strategies into their financial plans. During his tenure, he customized insurance solutions for high-net-worth clients, business owners, and families. Additionally, Tom served as a wealth management consultant for an insurance agency. He developed and implemented key strategies to help financial professionals keep life insurance solutions front of mind for their clients.
Tom has a master’s degree in business administration focusing on management and marketing from Mercer University, located in Macon, Georgia, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from York College, located in York, Pennsylvania.
Tom currently holds his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter® (CPCU®), and Registered Health Underwriter® (RHU®) designations. He is also a registered representative, and holds FINRA series 6 and 63 licenses. Tom currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia
