Ms. Carla Carstens

Ms. Carstens is currently a Trustee of the Asset Management Trust and Chairman of their Nominating & Governance and Valuation Committees. Previously she was a member of AIT Worldwide Logistics Inc.’s Advisory board helping to develop its growth strategy and governance frame-work and Trustee and Audit Committee Chairman of the Lou Holland Trust. She independently and as a Principal in Tatum LLC’s Performance Practice consulted to private and public firms on performance improvement and strategy.

 

Ms. Carstens was an executive with BP/Amoco. With the BP-Amoco merger she facilitated the integration of the two operating cultures. Within Amoco she held various strategic and operations planning positions in chemicals, international marine transportation, supply chain management and Amoco Oil Company. As Vice President Strategy for Amoco Oil Company, Ms. Carstens was a member of the executive team dealing with cultural change, performance accountability, interface issues and M&A strategy. She provided internal management consulting services to company’s business units including gasoline convenience stores, international development, refining; and engineering & construction. As Vice President of Amoco Venture Capital Company, Ms. Carstens worked with early stage companies assisting them in their strategic growth developmental needs. Specialties: Financial Executive with proven leadership in financial planning and analysis, strategy development, strategic enterprise risk analysis and implementing operational and performance initiatives. Created M&A and capital asset acquisition strategies; facilitated the integration of a major corporate merger; led Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP) implementation; and directed product distribution supply chain optimization and competitive intelligence functions.

 

Ms. Carstens is currently trustee and Audit Committee Chairman of the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation and Director and Inclusion Chair for Financial Executives International – Chicago Chapter. She conducts the financial fiduciary training for Boardroom Bound’s Boardology® Institute Pipeline Seminars. She is past Trustee and Treasurer for Athena International that supports, develops and honors women leaders.
