Gary has more than 30 years of public accounting experience. Prior to joining the San Diego office of BDO in 2007. Gary was a partner with a Big Four CPA firm and served approximately four years as Regional Associate Director with the PCAOB. As an audit partner Gary provides a full range of consulting and assurance services to privately and publicly held clients.
Gary’s responsibilities have included, among others, conducting audit and consulting engagements in a wide range of industries, including broker-dealer, credit unions, financial institutions, financial services, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, high tech, professional services and hospitality companies, biomedical, and pharmaceutical companies. Gary has also served as the partner in charge of the audits of the City of San Diego, County of San Diego and the Port Authority. He has substantial experience in managing public offerings and private placements, with significant engagements encompassing initial and secondary stock offerings, and debt offerings. As a Regional Associate Director with the PCAOB, he supervised the inspections of large, regional, international and small accounting firms. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of the Fraud Discovery Institute in San Diego, where he was involved in various high profile corporate investigations. These qualifications give him special insights into business, financial and accounting concerns.
