Shelly Hogans

Shelly Hogans is currently the Managing Consultant of Empowerment Financial Advisory Services, Inc., an accounting firm offering fractional CFO and interim controller services, with a specialty in Sarbanes Oxley compliance and SEC reporting for publicly traded companies. She has held many finance and accounting roles with progressive responsibilities. She helped to found the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Forum, was an Advisory Council member for Women in Construction & Service (WICS) and functioned as the C-suite liaison, encouraging courageous conversations, at Limbach Holdings, Inc.

She currently leads the FEI Pittsburgh chapter’s DE&I programming and will continue on its Executive Board this upcoming fiscal year and serves as co-chair of the Outreach Committee of the Institute of Management Accountant’s (IMA) Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and will serve on the IMA’s global board, effective July 1, 2022.

Her passion for diversity, equity and inclusion has led her to be a contributing author to the IMA’s Strategic Finance magazine concerning board diversity and ESG human capital reporting along with multiple speaking engagements for students aspiring to enter the accounting and finance profession. In her spare time, she has been an adjunct professor teaching intermediate accounting to adult learners for Indiana Wesleyan University and Point Park University.

Ms. Hogans holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with honors and highest distinction from the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Drexel’s University’s LeBow College of Business.

She is a lifetime member and past national board member for the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. and past executive board member for the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Black MBA Association.
