Zara studied Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at MIT LIDS/CSAIL focusing on active learning for malware detection and risk-limiting post-election audits. After graduating, Zara worked on Google Assistant then at Google’s Threat Analysis Group, where she built machine learning and software systems to use threat intelligence and malware analysis to better protect against targeted threats and disinformation by state sponsored actors.
Zara enjoys the intersection of machine learning and cybersecurity and how machine learning can empower human analysis. In transitioning to founding Overwatch with Arjun and Tad, Zara was excited about leveraging the latest advances in NLP and machine learning technology to understand open source data across from natural disasters to the dark web and provide a decision advantage to financial fraud and global intelligence users.
