Devon Ponds is the Founder and CEO of Friends and Allies Brewing Company, a brewery and taproom started in November 2014 in East Austin. Prior to founding Friends and Allies Brewing Company, Ponds served as the Finance Manager of Port Brewing Company & The Lost Abbey in San Diego, California, and as the Accountant and Assistant Brewer at South Austin Brewing Company. From March 2010 to April 2011, Ponds was a partner and touring cyclist of The Scrimshaw Project, a travel website dedicated to an 11,000-mile kilometer bicycle ride through eight countries, beginning in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and ending in Panama City, Panama. During the trip, Devon was featured in Adventure Cycling Magazine, Texas Alcalde and McCombs Accounting Times.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a Master’s in Professional Accounting degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Ponds began his career as an Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco, California. He holds the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Award and was awarded the Dell First-Time Entrepreneur Award and the Austin A-List (2018) from the Austin Chapter of Commerce.
