Matt joined BTC Trust Company of South Dakota in October 2021 as an Assistant Vice President, Trust Officer. In February 2022, he was promoted to President of BTC Trust Company of South Dakota. Matt enjoys getting to work with clients, trust advisors, and business owners, helping them understand how trusts work and helping them utilize trust planning to achieve their financial goals. Prior to joining BTC Trust Company of South Dakota, Matt practiced trust and estates law for private law firms. He earned his bachelor's degree in government and international affairs from Augustana College and his Juris Doctorate and Masters in Public Administration from the University of South Dakota. He was named by Best Lawyers in America as a One to Watch - Trusts and Estates in 2020 and 2021. He stays active in the community by volunteering his time to the Veteran's Legal Clinic, Sioux Empire Teen Court, and he sits on the Foundation Board for the Volunteers of America- Dakotas. In Matt's free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing and playing music.
