Estrus Tucker is President/CEO, and Co-founder of DEI Consultants LLC, a national consulting firm serving corporations, nonprofits and local governments in designing and implementing strategies that advance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in ways that enhance organizational culture. Estrus is also a thought leader, writer and keynote speaker on embracing dignity, empathy and integrity as core values and invaluable human- centric practices. Estrus has more than 35 years of experience in executive leadership in local, state and national nonprofit operations & governance.

 

Estrus recently served as the principal consultant with the City of Arlington’s Unity Council Racial Equity Initiative, principal consultant with the City of Fort Worth’s Race and Culture Task Force, Faculty & Coach for the Institute for Health Improvement (IHI) National Equity Initiatives, and Justice Dept Chair & Faculty at the Kirkridge Retreat and Study Center, in Bangor, PA

 

Estrus was recognized as one of the 400 Most Influential People in Fort Worth, Texas in 2023, 2022, 2021 & 2020 by Fort Worth Inc. Magazine, a recipient of the 2019 Dr. Marion J. Brooks Living Legends Award, and also the recipient of the 2012 International Assoc. of Human Rights Agencies (IAOHRA) Individual Achievement Award for his work in support of transformational leadership in Mississippi; Belfast, Northern Ireland; Cape town, South Africa and Texas.

 

Estrus' current Board service includes the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board, City of Fort Worth Historic & Cultural Landmark Commission, Historic Como Preservation Council (Pres), Development Corporation of Tarrant County, the Brite Divinity School Board of Visitors (Chair) and the City of Fort Worth Police Chief’s Advisory Board. He is a Vietnam-era Veteran, an ordained minister active in interfaith and ecumenical initiatives, and an alumnus of Como Elementary School, Como High School, the University of Texas at Arlington (BA), and the John Ben Shepherd Texas Public Leadership Forum.

 

Estrus resides in Lake Como, a historic African American Community in Fort Worth, Texas where he was born and grew up. His mission is to inspire courage and model practices that promote human dignity, community belonging, nonviolent engagement and justice, in service of a world that works for all.
