Mark Dougherty

Mark Dougherty is a Senior Vice President of USI Insurance Services. Aside from his senior executive duties, Mark manages our Professional Risk Practice. Mark places complex executive risks (professional liability coverages, D&O, EPLI, crime, and fiduciary liability), as well as errors and omissions coverage. He also assists clients and staff with complex claims.

Mark spent time in general practice before spending 13 years as an insurance executive with a London-based brokerage. He joined a Midwest regional brokerage firm in 1999, subsequently acquired by Wells Fargo Company, and became an integral part in the expansion of the national practice expansion.

Mark was with Wells Fargo Insurance for 20 years and 8 months. In December 2017, USI purchased Wells Fargo Insurance.

Mark is a past and founding member of the ABA Standing Committee on Legal Malpractice. He is a board member of Timeline Publishing (Lawyers Liability Review – now owned by Thompson Reuters Publishing – West). Mark just retired from a seven-year position on the Minnesota State Bar Association, Board of Professional Responsibility, and 4th Judicial District Ethics Committee, whereat he had an active case load.

Mark earned a B.A. in Greek Languages & Philosophy from the University of Minnesota, and a Juris Doctorate from New York University.

Mark is a native of Hibbing, Minnesota (Minnesota’s ‘Iron Range’).
