Brian has worked primarily on large, public clients for the past 15 years, across a variety of industries including industrial manufacturing, retail, and technology. Using his deep technical accounting knowledge, he has been heavily involved with helping companies to resolve complex accounting and financial reporting issues. In addition to conducting audits of financial statements that are included in filings with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission under the 1934 Act, he has assisted companies with 1933 Act filings, including follow-on debt and equity offerings, initial public offerings, private debt offerings, spin-offs, and financial due diligence efforts in connection with acquisitions.  His primary role as lead audit partner includes regular communication with client executives and boards of directors on emerging risks, regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

While serving in the firm’s Department of Professional Practice, a rotation that was completed in 2006, Brian consulted with and advised KPMG’s professionals on the application of financial accounting and reporting standards and SEC financial reporting matters. In addition, he advised KPMG professionals on rules, regulations, and policies that guide the delivery of our audit services in the United States. He also participated in interactions with standard setters and regulators (e.g., FASB, SEC, AICPA, and PCAOB) as they developed new rules and regulations for our profession. Brian is currently a member of the Firm’s revenue recognition network, developed to assist clients with implementation of the revenue recognition accounting standard.
