Michael LaGatta – Mr. LaGatta is General Counsel of TPG Holdings and Chief Tax Officer of TPG. From 2008 until he joined TPG in 2011, Mr. LaGatta was Vice President, Strategy and Marketing at First Solar, a solar project developer and panel manufacturer. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2008, he was with the law firm, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, in New York City, where his practice was focused on mergers & acquisitions and leveraged transactions. Prior to earning his law degree and M.B.A., Mr. LaGatta worked as a financial analyst.
Mr. LaGatta graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Economics, and earned his J.D. (magna cum laude with order of the coif distinction) and MBA (summa cum laude) from Georgetown University. Mr. LaGatta earned his L.L.M in Taxation from New York University.
