Geoffrey Milsom

Geoff Milsom is a subject matter expert on supply chain and global trade. He is currently a Professor in the Logistics, Business, and Public Policy department of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. He teaches both undergraduate and master’s level courses, such as Introduction to International Supply Chain Management, Global Trade Logistics, and Introduction to Transportation.​

 

Over the last 10 years his work with commercial organizations focused on strategy, system selections, implementations, and modeling & analytics for North American shippers and third-party logistics companies. Geoff has successfully implemented strategies and systems for many companies including Care/of, CVS Health, Belk, Nestle, Kraft, Kellogg’s, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Tempur-Sealy, Corsicana, the NSA, Lasership, Lutron, Trinity Industries, Gavilon, ArcBest, Koch Industries, Sephora, Covenant Transport, and CJ Logistics.​

 

Prior to that, Geoff was a transportation system super-user for two logistics service providers, an account manager for a small parcel and LTL 3PL, as well as an operations manager for a same-day online food delivery business.​

 

Geoff earned his bachelor of arts from George Washington University, and his master’s in business administration from the University of Maryland, with a focus in supply chain management. Geoff is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and a regular contributor to publications such as Transport Topics, Supply Chain Digest, Logistics Management, and Inbound Logistics.
