John Denton

In 2023, John Denton wrapped up a 35-year broadcast career on the Horned Frog Sports Network, making him the longest-tenured broadcaster in TCU history.  Over the course of his career, Denton has worked for ESPN and has drawn additional assignments from Westwood One and CBS Radio Sports and Bowl Season Radio on their coverage of various college bowl games, the NCAA Basketball Tournament, NFL Monday Night Football, NFL Playoffs, WNBA, Major League Baseball's Game of the Week and the College World Series. 
A winner of the Lindsey Nelson National Outstanding Broadcaster Award from the All-American Football Foundation, Denton, along with his TCU broadcast partner Brian Estridge, were 14-time winners of the Best Play-by-Play Award from the Texas Associated Press.  
A 1985 graduate of TCU, Denton lettered four years as a kicker at TCU from 1981-1984.  He and returned to his alma mater in 2005 as an Associate Athletics Director, focusing on fundraising nearly $750 million for major renovations to stadium venues and for scholarships.
Denton spent 20 years in the golf industry: 10 years with the Senior PGA Tour’s Dallas Reunion Pro-Am and 10 years as a Vice-President with Professional Turf Products, a distributor for the Toro Company (TTC). 
Denton has served terms on the boards of the Oak Cliff YMCA, TCU Alumni Association, TCU Frog Club, TCU Lettermen’s Association, TCU Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Bobby Bragan Foundation and Texas Capital Bank’s Advisory Board.   He is active in an advisory role with the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial.
He resides in Southlake with his wife of 30 years, Linda Martin Denton and two daughters, Erin, a 2020 TCU graduate from the Harris School of Nursing and Meredith, a 2022 graduate of the Neeley School of Business at TCU.
