Erin Alberts

Erin has leadership responsibility for the Kinetiq Health Pharmacy Benefits Practice and its solutions. She provides direction to our team to ensure the program is contributing to improved health and reduced costs for the employers we serve. As part of the population health & analytics team, Erin develops innovation and evolution of practice initiatives; she also works alongside Apex client services and sales teams to develop, implement and evaluate comprehensive pharmacy benefits programs for clients.

Erin is a clinical pharmacist and pharmacy educator. She also is an attorney, writer, preceptor, podcaster, and STEM advocate who helps break down the complexities of healthcare. Before joining Apex in 2020, her career spanned across healthcare, pharmacy and law – inside a wide variety of settings for over two decades, including teaching at Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for over a decade.

As a writer, Erin’s book subjects range from pharmacy law, pharmacy practice career development, entrepreneurship, and a children’s book trilogy for girls and STEM education along with a successful crowdfunding campaign (the #STEMPrincess series). Her podcast, The Edutainer, explores the intersection of education and entertainment. She’s also worked in community practice pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of clinical, medical affairs, and operational roles, Medicaid, and association management in continuing education. She is a member of the American Society for Pharmacy Law, where she previously served on its board of directors.

Erin was named an IBJ Woman of Influence, a winner of the You Inspire Us! Award with Women & Hi Tech’s Leading Light Awards, and a Butler University Woman of Distinction. Erin earned a BS in Pharmacy degree from Butler University, an MBA in Marketing from Concordia University Wisconsin, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Shenandoah University, and a JD from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, with an additional concentration in healthcare law. She also earned the professional designation of Professional, Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM) from AHIP.

She is licensed as a pharmacist in two states (IN, NC), and as an attorney in one (IN). She loves to read, garden, and travel; she keeps a map of the places she’s traveled to globally. Erin grew up in South Bend, IN, rehabbed houses with her family as her first job (and loves DIY/HGTV) and is a first-generation college graduate in her family.
