Douglas O’Brien

Doug O’Brien leads the National Casualty and Alternative Risk Practices for USI.   These practices assist clients and colleagues in the analysis, design, marketing and placement of casualty and alternative risk financing programs. Additionally, the practices are responsible for identifying and implementing solutions to address our clients’ changing needs, and communicating relevant casualty and alternative risk oriented issues to clients and colleagues. 

O’Brien has more than 33 years of experience managing large casualty and alternative risk placements for both risk management and middle market clients in the Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Transportation, Financial Services, Food & Beverage industries.   Prior to joining USI, he was a Senior Vice President for Wells Fargo Insurance Services for over 11 years, and prior to that spent 19 years with Marsh. 

O’Brien earned a B.A. from Clark University and an M.A. from American University. He holds an admitted Property and Casualty Broker New York Brokers License and various non-admitted brokers licenses in all other states.
