Stephanie Bickel

Stephanie Bickel founded her firm, Speak by Design, over twenty years ago to deliver these services through an extensive network of coaches. Speak by Design helps leaders and their teams maximize their personal effectiveness through their communication and become the obvious choice. Her team of coaches prepare people for media interviews, TED talks, and keynotes for 1000+ audiences. Their clients are Managing Directors and Partners at global management consulting firms, C-Suite executives at large companies, investment bankers, and emerging leaders on the path to these top positions. With an eye towards developing their clients into market makers and change agents, Stephanie and her team work with clients to build coaching and training programs that are one-of-a-kind and get results.

Stephanie’s background as a communication designer, trainer, marketer, and corporate facilitator gives Speak by Design a unique perspective. Stephanie has taught workshops and classes for Kellogg, the Booth School of Business, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and many other MBA programs. While living in Amsterdam, she led multiple global communications and training initiatives. Having been recognized as an expert in creating new leaders and in grooming current leaders to become more effective, she has been featured multiple times in the Chicago Tribune and Crain’s, and her articles have appeared in many publications. She has extensive experience maximizing the full potential of C-suite individuals, helping them develop champions, develop followership, springboard big change initiatives, and execute their business goals through their communication. Clients have said that their time spent with Stephanie was unforgettable and one of their most rewarding professional experiences.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s Degree of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Roosevelt University. Stephanie regularly shares research and articles about leadership and communication skills.

She has been featured in The Chicago Tribune and Crain’s. Stephanie married her college sweetheart from Notre Dame. They are also raising three teenagers in Metro Detroit, Michigan.
