Dan Helwing

Dan is an EY partner and lead professional on SEC reporting and corporate governance matters for FAAS. In this role, he assists clients with SEC staff preclearance requests, comment letter responses and SEC reporting issues related to complex transactions, such as IPOs, spin-offs, and reverse acquisitions.  He also has led the development of corporate governance advisory services to assist clients in designing corporate governance policies and procedures, understanding recent and emerging trends and facilitating board effectiveness assessments.

 

Prior to joining FAAS, Dan served for three years in the National Professional Practice – SEC Regulatory Matters Group and monitored SEC developments, including SEC rules and proposals, interpretive guidance on practice matters, and recent SEC staff trends. He also prepared firm publications and comment letters on the SEC's disclosure effectiveness initiatives.

 

Dan holds a BS in accounting and finance from Georgetown University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina, Virginia and the District of Columbia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
