Brian Bowling is senior vice president, chief financial officer, and chief information officer with responsibility for Financial Management & Planning, Technology Solutions Services, and Financial Statistics & Structure Analysis.
Financial Management and Planning provides accounting and asset management services, prepares budgets and financial statements, and oversees the bank’s procurement and corporate planning.
Technology Solutions Services provides support for employee workstations, mobile devices, network connectivity, telephony, purchasing of software and hardware, audio visual support, and application development solutions.
Financial Statistics & Structure Analysis collects data from financial institutions to support the formulation of monetary policy, determine depository institution reserve requirements, and support bank supervisory and regulatory activities.
Previously Mr. Bowling served as senior vice president and general auditor and was an advisor to the Bank’s management committee. He has also served as vice president in the banking supervision & regulation division, where he was responsible for financial sector policy analysis, banking industry and real estate market analysis, and credit and risk management.
Mr. Bowling joined the Atlanta Fed in 1999. Prior to that, he spent eight years with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Mr. Bowling earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Marshall University and a master’s degree in banking and financial management from Boston University and has completed executive education at the Harvard Business School. He also holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) professional designation and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals, the CFA Institute, the Georgia CIO Leadership Association, and the Technology Association of Georgia. He serves on the board of directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Georgia and is a member of the advisory board of directors of CHRIS 180 (formerly CHRIS Kids).
