Gauri Bhat is an assistant professor of accounting in the Cox School of Business. Before entering academia, she worked as an auditor with KPMG and held a management position in the Corporate Banking Risk Administration Group at Citibank.
She has taught financial statement analysis for banks, financial accounting, and management accounting courses at the MBA and undergraduate levels. Her research has been published in accounting journals and focuses on financial reporting by financial institutions, risk management disclosures, and the role of accounting in credit default swap markets.
She earned her PhD from the University of Toronto. She holds professional designations as a chartered accountant and a cost accountant, and is a CFA charter holder. Most recently, she served as a faculty member at the Olin Business School at Washington University in St Louis.
