Dennis M Tsonis

Dennis is a Senior Vice President with Lovitt & Touché, Inc., one of the nation’s 100 largest insurance brokerages. As their Construction Practice Leader, Dennis leads a team of construction insurance experts in serving the insurance and risk management needs of contractors, A&Es, developers and suppliers. 

Over the past 30 years he has specialized in many different facets of construction risk management; including roles as a premium auditor, underwriter, underwriting manager, OCIP administrator, founding member of a construction group-captive insurance company and a broker for construction risks of all types and sizes. He is a frequent speaker on construction risk management and insurance issues, and has authored the article “Insurance Strategies for Construction Joint Ventures” for the CFMA’s Building Profits magazine as well as presented the topic of “Wrap-ups From the Subcontractor’s Perspective” at the CFMA’s national conference.  Dennis holds the designation of a Charted Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). 

Dennis has been very active in a number of construction associations.  Over the last 22 years he has served the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the CFMA as a two-term Secretary, Director and as Chair of their Program, Membership, Succession Planning committees and Scholarship committee. He was recognized in 2004 with the “Best Under the Sun” – Associate Member of the Year Award.  He is a graduate of the Arizona Builders Alliance – Leadership Development Forum; and served on the ABA’s Auction and Legislative committees.  Dennis is currently serving a ninth term as a Director of the American Subcontractors Association – Arizona Chapter, is chair of their insurance council and was recognized with their 2010-2011 Outstanding Member of the Year Award. 

He enjoys spending his free time exploring the great outdoors with his wife and two children. Dennis has been very active as a leader in local Boy Scout units, an inaugural member of Fighter Country Partnership’s Blue Blazer Squadron whose mission is to support the military personnel serving at Luke Air Force Base.  He is also an award winning homebrewer and a nationally ranked beer judge.
