Mark Buchanan

Mark Buchanan specializes in providing corporate finance advisory services to the ownership and board level of privately-held/ family-owned businesses. He regularly serves as a strategic advisor to the C-level leaders on a variety of topics such as acquisitions, organic growth investments, capital structure, recapitalizations, ESOPs, ownership transitions/buyouts, valuation and liquidity events.

Mark joined BMO Harris in 2013. Prior to that he served as the Director of Business Development (e.g. M&A) for Career Education Corporation (NASDAQ: CECO) where he led the global M&A effort culminating in several completed transactions. During this time, Mark completed several acquisitions and divestitures in Europe.

Previously, he served as Vice President at Credit Suisse where he lead the execution of several notable transactions including Initial Public Offerings, Acquisitions, Equity Private Placements, High Yield Notes, Investment Grade Bonds as well as several M&A and financing engagements in the Household & Personal Care, Business Services, and Airline sectors.

Mark started his career in Commercial Banking serving in various lending roles at LaSalle Bank in Troy, Michigan; subsequently advancing to Vice President and Relationship Manager at Bank of the West in Newport Beach, California

Mark holds an MBA with Honors from The University of Chicago, Booth School of Business as well as a BS in Finance from Oakland University.
