Experience
Mr. Dettmann joined BB&T Capital Markets in 2017 and is a Managing Director in the Strategic Advisory Group. He has advised and invested in middle-market companies for more than 20 years across a broad spectrum of industries comprising business services, security, manufacturing, distribution, railroads, and technology. His advisory experience includes mergers and acquisitions along with public and private offerings of debt and equity securities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Dettmann was the Co-Head of Private Equity at Brown Advisory in Baltimore, MD and was a Managing Director and Head of the Chicago office for Morgan Joseph & Co. Inc.

Mr. Dettmann received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University.
