As Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at Staples, Mark is accountable for driving global business performance, and is a critical business partner serving many groups and departments within the organization. Mark handles global accounting, all internal and external financial reporting and controls, and compliance. He also provides support for international business partners.
Prior to joining Staples, Mark was SVP, Chief Financial Officer, for Hanson Building Products (HBP) where he led global finance functions. He has deep experience in implementing business process improvements, risk management processes, developing high performance finance teams, performing due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, and driving change management.
Earlier in his career, Mark held roles at HeidelbergCement North America, Hanson North America, Ernst & Young, M.R. Weiser & Company, Supermarkets General, and Arthur Andersen & Co.
