Maurice James

Maurice James is a Sr. Director of Marketing at T-Mobile and leads a newly formed division - Cause Marketing - that resulted from the merger between T-Mobile and Sprint.  In this role, he and his teams are responsible for designing, executing and managing programs that connect company services and resources with key audiences’ needs solving social ills & critical pain points that create new opportunities for them. Programs like the recently launched Project 10Million which ensures students in 10M households over the next 5 years have access to the internet, all work to support elevating the company’s brand beyond its well-documented wireless success.  

In his 3 years with T-Mobile, Maurice has also lead marketing teams in Integrated Marketing, Marketing Strategy & Planning and most recently Customer Base Management.  

Prior to T-Mobile, Maurice spent 21 years at AT&T serving in several divisions of the company leading teams in various roles including customer operations, product development & management, channel management, marketing operations, and customer base marketing.  He was a part of the small team responsible launching for what is now Cricket Wireless, and worked in 7 different cities during his tenure at AT&T including nearly 4 years in Pretoria, South Africa.  

Maurice also had a short stint at Microsoft prior to his move to T-Mobile leading Customer Relationship Management for Xbox, Windows and Surface.

Maurice was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and graduated the University of Tulsa with a BA in Communication.  He serves on the Boards of Directors for Earshot Jazz and Big Brothers Big Sisters Puget Sound (BBBSPS).  In January, Maurice will expand his role with BBBSPS and become Chair of the Board of Directors.  

Maurice stays a man on the go - and that fits his love of (international) travel just perfectly.  Maurice lives near downtown Seattle, WA.
