Andrew McMaster

Andrew G. McMaster is the retired deputy CEO and vice chairman of Deloitte & Touche LLP and has served on the boards of directors of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, Deloitte LLP, and Deloitte & Touche LLP.  He was a senior partner and a leader of the global organization, with 39 years of client service experience. He also led the financial services industry practice for the Northeast region.


Mr. McMaster’s leadership responsibilities included oversight of operations for the US Audit Practice and the development of the strategic plan and operations for the US and Global Dispute Consulting and Forensic Services Practice.  In this role he served as the national and global managing partner for this practice, which includes commercial, intellectual property, and securities litigation, as well as forensic investigations, business insurance consulting, and bankruptcy and reorganization services.


He served as the lead client service partner or advisory partner for audit and advisory clients including: AIG, Bessemer Securities Corporation, Comcast, Crane Co., Energy Future Holdings (formerly TXU), Fannie Mae, the Hearst Corporation, Deere & Co., Merrill Lynch, MetLife, Microsoft, Reed Elsevier, Sithe Energies, Sotheby’s, and UnitedHealth Group.  


As the former national managing partner of the Office of the CEO client program, Mr. McMaster oversaw service to Deloitte’s most significant global clients. He also directed the development of leading-edge forums and materials to keep audit committees members and chief financial officers abreast of important issues and developments. 


Mr. McMaster currently serves on the board of directors of Black & Veatch, a global engineering and construction firm located in Overland Park, KS, UBS Americas Holding LLC (Americas Holding), a subsidiary of UBS AG, located in New York, NY, and Avon Products, Inc.  He serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of each board.  He also serves as the Chairman of Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC), an advisory body to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), located in Norwalk, CT.


Active in support of education, Mr. McMaster was a member of the Wharton School Graduate Executive Board from 1987 to 1998 and is currently the vice chairman of the board and a member of the executive committee at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. In addition, he is a former member of the Vestry of Trinity Church Wall Street, where he chaired the audit committee, and he is the former chairman of the audit committee of the National Episcopal Church.


Mr. McMaster holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a BA from Hobart College.
