Michelle McDermott

Michelle McDermott is a communication strategist with deep experience in organizational change. She works with executives to communicate strategy, align teams, strengthen relationships, enhance credibility, and connect with employees. Her clients have included Allegis Group, Fannie Mae, FMC, McDonald’s, Nationwide, Prudential, TEKsystems, and the World Bank Group.
Michelle has expertise in helping leaders and communicators evolve culture, integrate businesses, navigate crisis, and drive adoption of new ways of working. She has a passion for making the complex simple. Before joining CRA, Michelle led change management efforts with a primary focus on merger integration and business process change, as part of Andersen Consulting. She earned a B.A. in Journalism from Pennsylvania State University’s Schreyer Honors College and an M.A. in Organizational Communication from Arizona State University.
She has taught classes on interpersonal communication, public speaking, and strategic writing and has authored research on symbolic messaging in the workplace.
Michelle lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband and three children. She enjoys running her kids from one activity to the next, trying to get some exercise in between (often with the dog), and whenever possible, great movies and even better books.
