Rick Frimmer

Rick L. Frimmer is a Managing Director in the Financial Advisory Services Goup, with over 35 years of experience in providing legal, financial advisory and strategic advice in restructurings of municipal and corporate debt, as well as equity. He has represented virtually every high yield bond fund, all the major corporate trustees, and many private hedge funds.
 
Rick’s career has spanned bankruptcy and creditor’s rights, public finance, commercial and tax litigation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities law, and taxation. He has gained a national reputation in health care, housing, infrastructure and government debt restructurings, and has consulted on forensic matters involving healthcare institutions, public companies and governmental units. Rick has been an expert witness in a number of high profile cases. He has served as a Board member of many Boards of Directors and as Audit Committee Chair of a public company, as an arbitrator for FINRA and as a fee arbitrator for the San Diego Bar Association.  He is also an adjunct professor of law instructing in bankruptcy and securities at two prominent law schools.
 
Prior to joining the firm, Rick was a partner in leading national law firms, most recently Schiff Hardin. He is admitted to the bars of California, Illinois and Pennsylvania and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He has appeared in over 20 Federal Courts of Appeal, District Courts and Bankruptcy Court, and well as numerous state trial and appellate courts.
 
Rick is a frequent speaker on public finance and defaulted debt topics for the Practicing Law Institute, the National Association of Bond Lawyers and The Bond Buyer.
 
While at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Rick received the Herbert S. Steuer Award and Beta Alpha Psi Award.
