In September of this year, The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) released their highly anticipate updated ERM Framework: Enterprise Risk Management – Integrating with Strategy and Performance. This new document builds on its predecessor, the 2004 Enterprise Risk Management – Integrated Framework, one of the most widely recognized and applied risk management frameworks in the world. The update to the 2004 publication addresses the evolution of enterprise risk management and the need for organizations to improve their approach to managing risk to meet the demands of an evolving business environment. This webinar will present a solid foundational review of the updated framework as well as provide insights into the importance of considering risk in both the strategy-setting process and in driving business performance.

Learning Points:
  • The new framework structure is made up of five components and introduces 20 key principles within each of the five components.
  • It focuses on integrating ERM with business practices which results in better information and leads to enhanced performance.
  • The updated document links to Strategy & Performance and emphasizes how entities create, preserve, and realize value.
