President Trump plans to nominate California tax attorney Charles “Chuck” Rettig to head the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as it implements the nation’s tax code revamp, according to a person familiar with the deliberations. If confirmed by the Senate, Rettig would join the agency as it struggles with limited resources and a possible restructuring by Congress. Also of note, Rettig has a tax background, rather than the business management expertise of the last several IRS heads.

Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo, shared some work-life balance advice on a recent episode of the "Freakonomics" podcast: "Leave the crown in the garage." Nooyi shared how the piece of advice from her mother has been helpful not only for her, but for her husband Raj K. Nooyi, who is president at AmSoft Systems. Checking your ego, or at least your professional identity, at the front door of your home can be uncomfortable. But as Nooyi sees it, everyone has to make some sacrifices to keep their marriage and family intact and for her, this was it.

SEC Considering Virtual Currency Legislation

SEC Chairman Jay Clayton, who testified alongside Christopher Giancarlo, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), said the agencies were coordinating with the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve on virtual currency trading and investing, but added that lawmakers may have to clarify and enhance regulatory powers.
