Financial Executives International (FEI) has named Charles “Chip” Deale as Vice President, Membership and Chapter Relations. Deale will assume his new role on February 1, 2016 and report to Chief Executive Officer Andrej Suskavcevic.

Deale brings to FEI extensive experience and leadership within membership associations. At FEI, he will be charged with supporting the organization’s members and chapters, as well as the chapters’ volunteer leadership. Deale will have oversight of chapter operations, career management services, strategic partnerships, and will develop training and educational programs, augmenting the value members receive.

“Chip’s experience enhancing the value of association membership through innovative educational content and enhanced networking opportunities will be integral to our efforts to continually improve and expand the benefits of FEI membership to senior financial professionals,” said FEI CEO Suskavcevic. “We welcome Chip to FEI and look forward to his contributions.”

Deale joins FEI from the National Press Photographers Association, where he was Executive Director and an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

Deale also spent 13-plus years as Head of Society Relations at CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals. In that role, Deale grew the number of affiliated societies, or chapters, from 85 to 137, and led the Institute’s expansion of the network of affiliates from being North American-focused to nearly 60 countries worldwide. Deale also strengthened leadership development and member resources for volunteer leaders.

“I am excited to advance FEI’s efforts to support senior-level financial executives in their individual careers and continue to set the highest standards of integrity in their field,” Deale said.

Deale is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and an ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) Fellow (FASAE). He served on the ASAE Board of Directors from 2006-2009, including as the Chair of the Audit Committee from 2008-2009. He was also the inaugural recipient of ASAE’s Professional Performance Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to the association management profession by a non-CEO senior executive. He holds a BA in Journalism from The George Washington University. Deale will be based in FEI’s Morristown, N.J. office.
