Baltimore Chamber Orchestra is a 37-year-old professional orchestra performing in Baltimore County.  The mission of Baltimore Chamber Orchestra is to move, inspire, and educate our community through world-class performances.

The BCO performs repertoire ranging from the Baroque period through the 20th century by great composers.  As a chamber orchestra, BCO generally has 20-40 performers on stage, rather than the 80-110 performers of a full symphony orchestra.

BCO performs five concerts per year at Kraushaar Auditorium at Goucher College, and hosts two conducting workshops per year for aspiring conductors from around the world.  The workshops are led by the BCO music director and distinguished conductor Markand Thakar.  BCO, through an affiliate, Livewire, provides music education and classical performance in Baltimore area elementary schools.

Please join us for this webcast on November 18th as Kim Golden, President and Trustee of BCO, presents a lively and engaging discussion regarding the business of running a non-profit and cultural program in today's challenging environment.

Discussion Topics will Include:
  • Funding and how the BCO worked by expanding and maintaining funding sources during Covid.
  • What does a performance organization do during a pandemic to further its goals and objectives, and how does the BCO continue managing costs and overheads?
  • Performance metrics established by the board of trustees and peer groups.
