Tell us a little bit about your career, educational/professional background and how you got to where you are today.

I’m a technology executive but with a unique career path. My undergrad degree is in Business Administration and my MBA is in Finance. I became a leader in a large IT group quickly out of college without any formal technical training. This path has always allowed me to see how technology enables business outcomes.

What is one piece of information you wish someone had told you when you first started your career?

Spend a great deal of time understanding how your business, or your client’s businesses, work. How do they operate? What external factors (economy, supply chain, regulation, etc.) affect the business? How can the business grow? What are the major risks of threats to growth? Understand the business at a deep level and understand your role in success.

What is your best networking tip?

Networking is about helping others. If you genuinely look for ways to help others, business and opportunity will come back to you. Spend way more time trying to understand how you can help others, over how they can help you.

Why does your company sponsor FEI Baltimore Chapter?

FEI provides an excellent platform to meet some of the greatest leaders in the Baltimore area. The events are outstanding, which allows us to expose some of our best relationships to some of the most unique companies and non-profits in Baltimore.

What are some of your personal hobbies outside of work?

I’ve spent my whole life around soccer. But with my body not keeping up with my mind, coaching my daughters has become a real passion. I love being around the girls and working with them, in whatever it is they choose to do.
