About this role:
The VP of Finance will be responsible for the Accounting and Finance function of the organization. As a champion for managed growth, this person will be responsible for understanding how to position capital resources and financial systems and processes to match InfoTrust’s incredible growth. We can’t say with 100% certainty what your day-to-day will look like, as we are hiring this person to help us determine crucial priorities regarding processes and systems that need to be implemented. Our goal is to move InfoTrust forward and achieve financial milestones.
 
Here are some of the goals we have for this role within the person’s first year. In many cases, we may already have a lot of these systems and processes in place, but we need to ensure scale in our processes:

  • Optimize current accounting policies and procedures that timely and efficiently produce financial reporting consistent with GAAP
  • Review and establish a plan to ensure timely and accurate compliance with governmental registrations, reporting and tax filings
  • Design a management system of delivery project review and approval such that management can regularly monitor, manage and ensure Customer Satisfaction and Delivery Profitability. Establish the reporting framework that distributes timely reporting and analysis.
  • Set up and run budgeting processes
  • Advocate the merits of administrative efforts in the organization (eg. Accurate timekeeping)
  • Work with the CEO and executive committee to design long-term incentive plans that financially align the outcomes for the owners and the employees.
  • Understands how to deploy process and procedure to manage and diversify risk in a high growth, entrepreneurial environment
 
Roles and responsibilities of the VP of Finance:
  • Leads planning and forecasting processes on a quarterly and annual basis.  Assists the CEO and COO in establishing goals in support of the company’s growth by holding the organization accountable in attaining them.
  • Manages and coordinates the company’s annual budgeting by creating data collection procedures, leading consensus building discussions and overseeing departmental consolidation of both metrics and financial accounts.
  • Oversees comprehensive reporting, analyses and projections of key metrics and financials. Develops and enhances dashboards to track business performance, identify trends and engage with functional leaders to support the greater enterprise value creation.
  • Evaluates alternative product and service pricing and related compensation plans (sales commissioning and management incentive plans). Assists the COO in establishing internal processes, authorization levels and related reporting in support of pricing strategies. Shows consistency with the company’s annual budget and long-term goals.
  • Leads and coordinates the organization’s evaluation of new initiatives with the goal of deploying the company’s financial and human resources on its highest returning projects through information gathering and open dialogue. 
 
Audits, Tax Planning, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Optimizes enterprise value while adhering to GAAP standards and best practices for tech companies.
  • Manages audits and tax filings (income, payroll, sales) end-to-end, including vendor selection and ongoing communication with auditors, tax advisors, and third-party professional service providers.
  • Establishes and maintains documentation of internal controls, policies, and procedures related to financial reporting and compliance.
  • Develops and maintains written accounting policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate implementation and compliance with current GAAP standards.
  • Manages tax strategy (corporate tax provisions, R&D tax credits, and securing other tax incentives where possible).
 
Finance
  • Manages the company’s banking and insurance partnerships.
  • Administers the opening, closing and daily account balance management of the company’s bank deposit accounts and other short-term liquidity instruments as necessary.
  • Manages the annual placement of insurance coverages consistent with the company’s risk profile. Manages any annual insurance audits and claim management. 
 
Financial Strategy and Leadership
  • Works with CEO to manage the company’s capital structure in support of the company’s growth and strategic direction.
  • Is an indispensable strategic partner to senior leadership and functional business
  • area leaders.
 
The Successful VP of Finance will have the following background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 10+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience. MBA preferred. CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required
  • Strong, highly strategic and operational leader who can lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting responsibilities
  • Experience with companies that have experienced growth and achieved profitable scale
  • Senior financial leadership in a SaaS, IT services company or agency strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to formalize accounting structures and controls without building undue complexity
  • Excellent negotiating skills and contract experience preferred.
  • Proven partnership skills working with Business Areas to support large proposal strategies
  • High professional and personal ethical standards
  • Excellent communicator
