Delaware Chapter Meeting

Fort DuPont is Coming Alive!

FEI Delaware Chapter’s first event of the 2016-17 program year is at Fort DuPont in Delaware City and features Jeffrey D. Randol, Executive Director of the Fort DuPont Redevelopment & Preservation Corporation.  This event will include lunch.

Starting in 2016, a new community emerges on this 325-acre National Historic District lying between the Delaware River on the east, the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal on the south and the Delaware City Branch Canal on the north.

Residential districts with waterfront views are being designed for a combination of single family, townhome, duplex and apartment living. They will incorporate renovated buildings dating to the time when Fort DuPont was an active military base. Commercial areas and office buildings will supplement the housing to create a place where walking, biking and boating can be enjoyed. Residents and visitors alike will enjoy Marina Village with its 150-slip marina, dining, shops and overnight lodging.
