Dinner and Networking Event

 Featuring Guest Speaker David Zander

CFP, Back Nine Financial, LLC

"Better Understanding and Maximizing Social Security Benefits in the New Retirement Era"

Please plan to join us on January 19th for this valuable presentation by David Zander, CFP, Back Nine Financial, LLC.

After spending the first 25 years of his career on what he calls the "front nine" (the accumulation phase), Dave has dedicated the last 15 years to the "back nine" (the income phase).  He ran both Aetna's and Lincoln National's income divisions before starting Back Nine Financial, an educational consulting and speaking firm. He primarily works with CPAs, corporations and individuals to help them understand and maximize Social Security benefits.  For Mr. Zander's complete bio, click here.

For most Americans, Social Security is a significant retirement asset, and claiming decisions are irrevocable. Making the best possible selections related to your Social Security options can mean a material difference of well over $500,000 in the income it provides to you over the course of your retirement years.

 Learning Outcomes:

  • What is retirement - and is it a worthy objective?
  • An introduction to Social Security, as well as an explanation of key terms and how your benefits are calculated
  • An analysis comparing your cumulative Social Security benefits given different start dates and life expectations
  • A retirement needs analysis comparing the cumulative financial requirements of your financial portfolio necessary to meet your projected expenses
  • A case study demonstrating how the choice of a Social Security starting date can extend your financial portfolio's longevity
  • A discussion about the impact of the Bipartisan Budget Bill 2015 on future Social Security benefits
