RenewAire in Waunakee looking for Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting functions as well as providing support for the finance team in general at RenewAire, LLC.  The Accountant is held accountable for ensuring both data accuracy and timeliness of recording and reconciling of financial information.

The Accountant will also serve as an available resource within the finance department for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and production support duties.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational

  • Participates in the financial close process by serving as a liaison between the various internal operational departments and accounting to prioritize, coordinate and streamline activities.
  • Assists in the daily banking / bank reconciliation activities
  • Assists with daily, weekly, and monthly Accounts Receivable processing
  • Review, match, and record vendor invoices
  • Generates and produces weekly vendor payments (check runs)
  • Provides assistance in managing and processing employee expense reports
  • Calculates and records the monthly MELCO royalty amounts and document as appropriate to support all royalty payments to the vendor, including the calculation of Lossnay core cost adjustments. 
  • Review and process monthly sales commissions and QS payments
  • Reviews, records, and manages the company Debit funds reporting process, documentation, and reconciliation
  • Works collaboratively with Accounts Payable to manage and maintain the corporate credit card program
  • Assist with recording and maintaining monthly accruals and standard journal entries
  • Participates in the recording, maintaining, and reconciling of all company accruals and supporting documentation to support outstanding liabilities and financial obligations
  • Support the month-end/ year-end close process
  • Calculates, documents, and properly files all sales & use tax/ excise tax (regulatory compliance) reports and initiates payments to the appropriate regulatory authority (WI, WA, TX, CA)
  • Provides assistance in the maintaining of the fixed asset listing, including the recording of capital asset additions and disposal, securing all documentation of all newly acquired assets, monthly reconciliation of detailed asset listing to the general ledger, and performs periodic physical count audits (provides redundancy and adds capacity)
  • Reviews and monitors all Accounts Payable transactions for accuracy and appropriateness
  • Participates in annual budgeting process
  • Other duties as assigned

Analytical

  • Assist in the maintenance of corporate wide financial, operational and QRM based metrics.
  • Perform account analysis monthly and provide explanation of variances (i.e. discounts granted, job cost analysis, labor analysis, etc.) 
  • Assist with managing and analyzing the statistical metrics
  • Partner with other departments to prepare ROI proposals for various capex and business proposals while utilizing the QRM methodology.
  • Performs spending and job cost analysis
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a rolling 15-month financial forecast
  • Participates in the processing of CRM commission reports
  • Supports other departments with various ad-hoc reporting requests and financial model analysis 
  • Develop and manage key reports to ensure tracking against budget and various other financial commitments. 

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with both GAAP and RenewAire’s accounting policy by working closely with the Director Finance and external third-party auditors.
  • Assists with government compliance, including sales/use tax, franchise tax, and 1099 reporting
  • Maintains and enforces the established company policy regarding the approval process to ensure that all expenses are compliant in accordance with stated policies and procedures
  • Participates in the annual tax preparation process, including the preparation of supporting schedules 
  • Participates in annual and periodic audit/review processes

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or finance
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis
  • Experience with building scalable systems and processes is a plus
  • Experience in HVAC industry a plus
