Can you imagine a company where software does all the routine work—including making decisions and acting on them? That’s not some future AI world—it’s happening now at a highly profitable, recession-proof, niche company with over 20 years of success. Would you like to be part of it?
We’re hiring a CFO who will also oversee the programmers powering the company's custom e-commerce platform. This is not a traditional finance role—most functions are already automated. We need an analytical problem solver with the vision and strategy to lead and evolve a highly efficient, tech-driven organization.
Company Overview: An e-commerce distributor that operates with an autonomous team and relies heavily on automation. With 25 years of consistent growth, the company emphasizes operational efficiency, compliance, and strong, lasting vendor and customer relationships.
Role Summary: The CFO will serve as a senior leader responsible for finance, IT, compliance, purchasing, and HR. The role demands a forward-thinking executive who understands the strategic application of automation and can collaborate closely with software developers to drive platform evolution.
Key Responsibilities: Lead financial strategy, accounting, and cash management in a highly automated environment. Direct the IT function - a team of software developers responsible for building and enhancing the custom e-commerce platform. Ensure compliance with sales tax, payroll, PCI, income tax, and HR regulations. Manage purchasing strategy, vendor negotiations, fraud detection, and payment platform relationships. Deliver actionable financial insights using real-time dashboards and automation tools.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) and a business degree (B.A. or MBA). Finance leadership experience, ideally in e-commerce, distribution, or highly automated business models. Experience managing programmers or software developers is required. Demonstrated strength in automation, flowcharting, and process optimization.
Ideal Candidate: A strategic visionary and analytical problem solver. Tech-savvy and automation-focused. Skilled at interpreting complex data and leading lean, high-impact teams. Adept at managing across diverse functions in a fast-paced, data-driven setting.
