An Evening with Laird Veatch, UofM Athletics

Laird Veatch has been the Director of Athletics at the University of Memphis since Oct. 1, 2019, and was elevated to Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics in June 2021. A 25-year veteran in intercollegiate athletics with experience in the Big 12 and SEC -- and a former Kansas State football Team Captain -- Veatch was viewed by many to have the ideal background to lead the Memphis athletics program.

Since his arrival at Memphis, Veatch has demonstrated his ability to lead through challenging and uncertain times. He successfully navigated the athletic department through the COVID-19 pandemic, and he helped inspire open dialogue and expression in the face of social injustice with the creation of the University of Memphis Athletics for Diversity & Equality (UMADE) working group.

Please join FEI Memphis in welcoming Laird Veatch as he discusses how he piloted Memphis towards being one of the most innovative and forward-thinking institutions.
