March Dinner Meeting: Moving from CFO to CEO

Join us for FEI OC's March Dinner Meeting:
"Moving from CFO to CEO (and more!)

Presented by Rhonda Longmore-Grund, President and Co-CEO of Akumin Inc.

Past President of the FEI Orange Country Chapter, and now CEO of a public company, Rhonda Longmore-Grund will give us insights into how she has approached her career changes and how they have impacted her personal and professional growth over the years.  She has had experience in 9 different companies as she worked through financial positions of increasing responsibility and complexity.  One of her big challenges was changing industries from Tech to Healthcare, but the bigger challenge was being promoted to CEO and then guiding the nation-wide, ~1,000 site of service organization across 46 states through the pandemic and the subsequent merger.

Akumin is a $730MM public company that treats 2M patients a year with 1,200 sites of service and 4,000 team members.  It is the result of buying/merging with Alliance HealthCare in 2021, where Ms. Longmore-Grund was CEO, and now is the second largest provider of radiology and radiation therapy services to U.S. hospitals.  Besides surviving the merger, she along with her Alliance executive team stepped in as the new leadership team to run the larger merged Akumin company upon the close of the transaction.  She has focused much of her efforts on creating a common culture despite the wide geographic dispersal of the organization.  She had previously guided Alliance through a major downturn related to the pandemic and had to find ways to adapt to the new environment, all while sustaining the workforce’s morale.

Through all these challenges and changes, she has developed the strategies and actions that it takes to create a successful organization in a public company setting.  She will share these concepts, as well as the lessons learned along the way, in what will be a very informative and enlightening discussion.
