Even before COVID-19 upended our lives and also caused a massive market meltdown, plan sponsors of retirement plans were already navigating through one of the most impactful and recently enacted (in December 2019) pieces of retirement legislation-the SECURE Act.  As the provisions of this Act were being implemented early in the year, COVID-19 hit and phase three of the subsequent economic stimulus legislation, the CARES Act, was passed in late March.  The CARES Act includes a number of provisions to help retirement plan participants and sponsors to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.  What are the key plan design and operational considerations for your DC plans and how should these be prioritized?  What are concrete actions that as a plan sponsor you can take to assist plan participants?  These are among the questions that will be addressed with actionable steps to help plan sponsors navigate through these turbulent times.
