FEI Tampa Bay Chapter Volunteer Day at JA Finance Park

Please join FEI Tampa Bay Chapter for a hands-on volunteer opportunity on February 8th with local eighth-grade students at JA Finance Park.  This has proven to be a successful team building opportunity for many local companies, and we'd like for you to participate with us!  This opportunity is open to all FEI Tampa Bay members, sponsors, and friends of the Chapter.
 
At JA Finance Park, students act as adults for a day and make personal financial decisions in a realistic simulation. Students receive life scenarios, complete with job title, marital and family status, income, credit score, and existing debt. They must purchase items to meet the needs of their family, such as insurance, clothing, transportation, housing, and groceries – without spending more than they earn. Volunteer your time and help build the foundation of our children’s future. You will be placed in a business with students and supervise as they create their budget and shop for their life scenario.
  • Students prepare in the classroom before their visit by learning about each of our partners in the facility.
  • This is a great opportunity for children to be introduced to the world of work, where they learn valuable skills like writing a check, buying & selling, collaborative teamwork, and much more.

  • If you have not done so already, please take a moment to click the following link and fill out our Volunteer Bio Form. If you have already completed this form for the 2023-2024 school year, you do not need to complete it again.

  • Volunteering at JA Finance Park is from 9:45 am - 2:00 pm.
  • Check-in will be in the Finance Park Lobby.
  • You will need your driver’s license for check-in.
