Tampa Bay Chapter April 20th Panel Discussion - IT Security as a Competitive Advantage

IT Security as a Competitive Advantage
Featuring Guest Moderator David Shearer, Chief Executive Officer, (ISC)², Inc.

Organizations frequently see IT security as a money pit that delivers marginal business value.  This panel will discuss developments like cyber value at risk and business concepts that demonstrate the business enablement aspect of IT Security.

Whether you call it IT, Cyber or Information security, this session will provide perspectives that can help bridge technical and business professionals toward complementary approaches to delivering business value.  Instead of viewing IT security as a seemingly endless operating cost, the discussion will focus on how IT Security can provide organizations a competitive advantage.

Attendees will learn about:
  • The Value Proposition of Cyber Security (discussions of cost and value)
  • The process of Mitigation of attacks (examples from the experts’ experience and the general process as well as the Response Plan Development. (Hope and Fear aren’t sufficient)
