Tell us a little bit about your career, educational/professional background and how you got to where you are today.
I have been in the insurance industry for 21 years, and have had the pleasure of owning my own agency for five of those years. I have been both a consultant/broker, as well as leading sales executive for a national third-party administrator. Having the experience of both sides has served me well in my career.
I joined Continental Benefits in 2015 as a Senior Vice President of Sales and now serve as the Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In this role, I work closely with prospective and existing clients in delivering custom solutions that reduce spend, improve quality and provide a better overall experience. However, my main focus is bringing true quality and cost transparency to the table.
What is one piece of information you wish someone had told you when you first started your career?
The importance of building strong strategic partnerships.
Do you think it takes a certain kind of personality to thrive in your field? What traits are most important?
Yes, I do. Our industry is very relational and being out and seeing your clients and customers matters. Sacrifice of time away from family is necessary, and not everyone enjoys extensive travel.
What is your best networking tip?
Always be honest and never promise something you cannot deliver. Credibility leads to strong partnerships.
