Why does your company sponsor FEI Tampa Bay Chapter?
Along with providing us with opportunities to network with financial professionals from a wide range of businesses in the West Central Florida footprint, participating in FEI’s various meetings and events also allows us to stay current on the key issues they’re dealing with on a regular basis.
How does your company provide value to finance executives in the Tampa Bay area?
It provides the region’s finance executives with a stable, privately-owned banking alternative that is large enough to handle a full range of banking needs. The Bank of Tampa offers locally based decision-makers and staff to support our banking clients.
What do you love most about working in the finance profession?
The long-term relationships I have been able to develop with our clients. Those relationships have allowed me to learn enough about their businesses to become an advisor on par with their CPAs and attorneys.
What is your best networking tip?
Develop relationships with no more than one or two professionals in any sector (attorneys, CPA’s, insurance agents, staffing professionals). Then focus on generating at least one to two introductions and opportunities for them annually. The right networking partners will always reciprocate.
What are some of your personal hobbies outside of work?
I spend my downtime walking our family’s ever-changing pack of dogs (we’ve got eight of them in the house right now); spearfishing in the Gulf (and yes, there are a lot of sharks out there), and doing yardwork on the two-acre property my wife talked me into buying in Terra Ceia as our eventual retirement home.
