Why does your company sponsor the FEI Tampa Bay Chapter?

Robert Half has enjoyed a long-standing involvement with FEI—both nationally and locally. We have worked closely with the Tampa Bay chapter for two years and have formed great relationships with many of the members. Nationally, we have been involved with FEI for over 15 years! Through our involvement, we have built a strong customer base and have expanded our visibility among loyal FEI members. Now more than ever, we aim to serve as a trusted resource for members’ financial staffing needs and provide the most current information on the finance industry and hiring trends. Additionally, the chapter offers many opportunities to give back to the community through philanthropic events.

How does your company provide value to finance executives in the Tampa Bay area?

Not only do we help to provide talent solutions when needed, but we also can identify unique skill sets that our clients need for special financial projects. We work with a variety of great organizations, so we can provide challenging and rewarding opportunities to our financial consultants, many of whom have been consulting with Robert Half for years.

Including Protiviti, there is a Robert Half presence in 30 countries on 5 continents, giving us an incredible global reach and the ability to help our clients expand and grow in many directions.

Beyond recruiting, we provide timely and relevant industry insights to our clients and candidates, including business and salary trends, employment best practices, and career and management advice. We believe that the better informed our clients and candidates are, the more successful they will be in their staffing and career choices.

What do you love most about working in the finance profession?
After receiving my Finance degree from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, I immediately started working for Robert Half. I love partnering with companies of all sizes to help them work through challenges and find the right talent to get through mission-critical projects. Whether it’s working with companies to go public, through M&A or divestitures, to improve processes, implement new systems, or even just help through a busy season, it’s always a rewarding and learning experience. It is so interesting to see companies grow and how they not only tackle the day-to-day grind, but also work toward their goals.

The relationships that I have made through Robert Half over the last 16+ years are countless, and I feel truly blessed to have a seat at the table with financial leaders in Tampa Bay.

Do you think it takes a certain kind of personality to thrive in your field? What traits are most important?

Absolutely! The staffing field requires persistence and the ability to think outside of the box, particularly in a climate of scarce unemployment, and finding quality talent. An important part of my job is building and maintaining relationships with clients and consultants. In this dynamic, I often find my clients becoming consultants and vice versa, underscoring the need to always be respectful and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethics in every placement.
