Dr. Alan Seay

Dr. Alan Seay was named Chief Executive Officer of ILTexas on January 30, 2018. He is a 32 year veteran of Texas public schools. The first 27 of those years were spent as teacher, coach, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent in traditional public schools. He first entered the charter school world when he became the Superintendent/CEO of A+ Charter Schools in 2011. Dr. Seay received his Bachelors degree from Midwestern State University, his Masters from Abilene Christian University, and Doctorate from University of North Texas. He and his wife Ginger have been married for 32 years. And have one 25 year old son.
 
Dr. Seay has become a tremendous advocate for Texas charter schools, having served in multiple regional and state leadership positions. He created the North Texas Charter Executives Study Group, an informal group for charter school executives to meet and learn from one another. That group has initiated several collaborative projects for North Texas charter schools. He has served as a charter school consultant working with several charter schools as a TEA approved trainer, performing budget and operational reviews, administering climate surveys, providing executive coaching, reviewing school finance and operations, and helping schools develop policies and procedures. He is an adjunct professor for Dallas Baptist University and Louisiana State University – Shreveport.
